Background

Pablo was born on 1971, in a small town in the Philippines. He is attending Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA. majoring in fine arts. He is a member of the Cabrillo Seahawk Metal Arts Club (SMAC), since spring 2014 and is the former president of SMAC.

He was honored to be instructed and mentored by Dawn Nakanishi in the metal arts. Through a workshop by Yehuda Tassa, he learned the basic filigree process with which he fell in love with. He loves the intricate details of the process which reminds him of the beauty of calligraphic penmanship he adored at a young age.

For more than 4 years, he has extensively created new pieces and continued to hone his filigree art in his small studio he built in his garage. He has started to incorporate his filigree with other techniques, like casting and enameling. He has also acquired other skills from SMAC sponsored workshops (granulation by Lynette Cederquist; stone setting with Curtis Arima to name a few).
